News Release: The new 2025/6 “Plett Coastal Camino (Hike & Kayak)” from Johan and Teresa Loots’ REAL CAPE ADVENTURES CC has been launched. Operating since 1994 the company established a kayak route on the famous Camino in Spain in 2012 and subsequently in Plettenberg Bay (“Plett”), as the “Cape Kayak Camino”, contributing to the new Camino trend in South Africa. Following Covid, the new Plett Coastal Camino {Hike& Kayak) has expanded to offer 2 to 5 day options, including optional kayaking, en route. Johan and Teresa’s association with Plett goes back many years and as in their other adventures (which have included Mauritius, Zanzibar, Mozambique and Madagascar, amongst others), they strive to offer the Real thing, giving participants a genuine experience of the area. Plett for them is all about the beaches, the rugged and beautiful coastline, the beach culture, the marine life, the coastal forest and the environs, all abutted by the Tsitsikamma Mountains. Their new “Plett Coastal Camino (Hike & Kayak)” includes all these in a carefully planned and guided hike and kayak meander, designed to let participants enjoy and discover just why Plett is rated one of Africa and the World’s prime beach destinations. Besides hiking the tour includes at least one day’s kayaking (or more, on request), as it’s the way many locals enjoy the Plett they call home. The weekly “Plett Coastal Camino (Hike & Kayak)” runs from February to July, as well as from October to November. They’re suited to all. Backpacks are transferred daily, and accommodation is in comfortable establishments en route, with all meals included, leaving participants free to immerse themselves in the stunning surroundings.
